What a way to end 2020, with a COVID cluster in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. We were tracking so well and now this terrible pandemic has risen its head again and will now impact an ideal Christmas for so many.
It’s got me thinking about complacency which can be defined as when you feel like you don’t need to do anything about a situation, even if that situation may be uncertain or dangerous… hello COVID-19!
So to ensure we all stay safe and healthy we can no longer be complacent. Practice social distancing, enter your details correctly when visiting places, practice good hygiene and just be mindful of others around you.
I haven’t really changed much since the beginning of this pandemic, besides spending more days a week in the office. I’ve been ‘out for a meal’ less than 10 times since mid March, I haven’t travelled any further than 2 hours from my home and I haven’t seen any of my family.
And it’s family that has got me thinking. It’s meant to be a Christmas when we all get together and enjoy each other’s company, but if this Sydney cluster grows, well that ain’t going to happen. I’m super cautious when it comes to interacting with people and I would hate to have people spread this virus to locations that don’t have the medical facilities to deal with child birth, let alone a pandemic like COVID!
So here’s to continuing to stay safe, calm and healthy!
